At 4:51 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2010, the Timberlake Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire at 9977 E. Remington Road in Athol. No one was home at the time of the fire, it was reported by neighbors. Timberlake fire responded with 12 firefighters, 2 support personnel, and 4 engines. Northern Lakes responded with 1 engine and 3 firefighters. Spirit Lake responded with 5 firefighters, 1 engine, and 1 ambulance.
A family of 6 and 3 dogs were displaced, the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho is assisting the family with shelter, food, and clothing. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
