Saturday, June 13, 2009 - Timberlake Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident on Forest Service Road 278, 10 miles north of Lakeview. Fire Boat 695 transported patients across from Lakeview. Thanks to Ron and Roger at the Happy Hermit for again arranging transportation for us from Lakeview to the patients. Also thanks to Vic Woolover for delivering an additional EMT from Bayview to Lakeview with his boat.
With the help of community members and guest to our community the Timberlake Fire Protection District was able to raise over $2200.00 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This is the most money raised in a single Fill the Boot event to date for our community. The money will help kids with nero muscular diseases such as muscular dystrophy. It funds their treatment, medical supplies, research and a summer camp where the kids have a chance to experience some of the fun things in life that they otherwise wouldn't get the chance to. The Timberlake Fire Protection District would like to thank everyone that help with collecting donations, all the contributors, Jana and Darcy from MDA, Silverwood Theme Park, Farragut State Park and the Cross Roads Gas Station in Athol. Without the support of our community this wouldn't of been possible.
